What if you have to cancel the task at short notice and out of office hours?

Of course we understand that life happens and there are unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes people need to change plans last minute however please do not cancel a confirmed mission task unless it is for a good reason. Many people have been involved to make this task happen and cancelling can have a significant impact on an older person.

You must tell GoodGym as soon as possible if you cannot attend a mission that you are confirmed on (email missioncontrol@goodgym.org). If this happens out of office hours (Mon-Fri 9.30am-6pm) then no-one from GoodGym will be able to respond. You should therefore communicate with any other runner(s) who are expecting you to arrive. If you are the only runner, you should contact the older person and let them know, and let the GoodGym office know as soon as possible via email missioncontrol@goodgym.org. Do not try to find another runner to replace you. The older person's information is confidential and they are specifically expecting you and the other mission runners who have been pre-confirmed. Sharing any information about a mission with those not confirmed on the task with you is in breach of our data protection and confidentiality policy and is a potential safeguarding risk.
